“Cherished Memories are Powerful!”
The beginning of January proved to be a low point in my life in-which I went through great loss. It was week two into my despair that the thought of a personal talisman proved wise and healing. I had created many custom pendants for friends, family and new acquaintances, but had not created something solely for myself.
Our 2016 Family Camping Trip with our dog Axle, was one for the books! It was challenging and yet wonderful in spite of everything. If you’ve read my blog, you know what I’m talking about! I wanted to create a pendant for myself that carried the energy, “Family and love can conquer anything,” within it. During our trip I happened to collect specimens from our campsite and during our hike that included: pinecones, larkspur and pink parry clover.
Shortly after we returned from our camping trip, Axle our dear pitmix had to have 2 teeth pulled. My husband brought them home from the Vet for me to add to a pendant, as an after thought. These would prove to be the perfect edition to my talisman.
I had just started to offer personalization in the form of stamping and knew I could add “Axle, AM + RM, 8/20/16, XOX” on the back. This made it extra special. It just so happened to be the month of my husbands birthday and thought, I have just enough materials to create two pendants.
- Coffee Grounds (from our campsite)
- Loose leaf Green Tea (from our campsite)
- Blue Larkspur Petals
- Pink Perry Clover
- 2 Axle Teeth
- Blue Gold Stone
I removed the center petals of my Pinecone to place my Blue Goldstone in the center. I then filled my mold with light blue resin and 24 hours later, I had my cabochon center piece.
Blue Goldstone, reminded me of our starry night and it’s message is, “Make a Wish”. Blue Goldstone, like diamond, is a good deflector of unwanted energies, and is highly regarded in the spirit realm as a protection mineral.
“The dances, carving the totem, carrying the ancestor rock, touching the Spirit Bear, it was all the same thing—it was finding out who I really was.”
During out trip I packed ground coffee and green, mint loose leaf tea. On the cold nights and mornings these warm delights brought nourishment and warmed our bodies till the sun rose over the mountain tops and blessed our campsite.
Creatively, I added a crescent ring of coffee to the the left side of the pendant and a mirror crescent of green mint tea to the adjoining right side.
Coffee is known to carry masculine energies and widely used in divination and binding spells. Coffee brings protective energy and clarity.
Green Tea is also known for masculine energies and used widely in meditation. Green Tea brings clean energy strength during transitions or times of change.
Rhodolite is family and love energy. It allows you to hold onto the good memories and brings harmonious balance to your life Larkspur has Native American, Greek and Christian roots. The flower brings love, affection, strong attachment, lightness, pure heart, sweet disposition and desire for Laughter.
Pink Perry Clover is the shamrock flower. The Purple Perry carries the message, “to be (or to live) in clover”, meaning to live a carefree life of ease, comfort, or prosperity.
As you can see, this matching pair took several steps before their final completion. Atop the pendant is one of Axle’s teeth. I placed Rhodolite in all four corners of the pendant. This symbolizes, our directions in life and that wherever we go, we bring love, protection and strength with us.
For my Husband’s 35th Birthday I presented him with the pendant on the left. This pendant is unique in that it has brown leather in-place of silver snake chain plus the addition of two wooden beads and antique gold finishing.
I wear this pendant daily as a reminder that times will get better and together as a family we will triumph!
Each pendant I create is cleansed by sage and blessed by full-moon oil. For these two pendants I also infused them with Brown Bear Spirit Energy.
The Spirit of the Bear is a strong source of support in times of difficulty. It provides courage and a stable foundation to face challenges. When the bear shows up as a spirit guide in your life, it’s perhaps time to stand for your beliefs or your truth. This power animal will provide for support and strength.
I took both pendants is my left hand and placed my right over top and began to chant. My focus was on the bear energy and it’s message. The Brown Bear played a significant part in our camping trip and almost made us turn-around and leave that day. The decision to stay was rewarding and as a family we took a risk and stayed in-spite of danger. This same energy and courage is what I infused into both our pendants.
Don’t be afraid to show how powerful you are.-Bear
